Final Film

The video below is my final piece ' 1000 Miles' By Vanessa Carlton'. The video took me from October 2010 to February 2011. It took me nearly 5 months to produce the video because it had to look professional and i had to make it to the way i wanted my video to turn out. During the making of the video, i did struggle with some of the aspects of making the film as i was not sure what effect or what colours to use etc. At some points, i was getting very stressed and frustrated with the whole video because it was not turning out how i planned it out to be. In my video, i used a range of shots like wide shot, close up, medium close-ups, long shots. The main shots i used was close up or medium close-up. I used a lot of effects in the editing of the video in Premiere-Pro. I used: Mirror, Rotate, split screens and many more.

  1. Good video sophie, I like the variety of different effects that you have used. I like the part where the piano solo plays and you have got natasha to play the piano at the same time. The bits that you have used in after effects also look very good. I would say that some parts of the after effcts were not cut at the right point, for example 2:12. The vocals have been synced well there is only a couple of places where it is out of time. I also like what you have done between 2:58 and 3:06.

    Good video sophie :) !!

  2. I really like your video, especially all the transitions between the clips and the effects that you have done. It gives the video a modern look. I also like the piano clips as it resembles the original video. The screen shots are good and the shots are framed nicely. Also i like the way you have used the opacity to fade in and out of clips, it gives a professional look to it.

    Well Done :)

  3. There is strong lip sync throughout the music video, however there are some parts where it is slightly out. There are a range of locations used, as well as camera shots, angles and effects, this keeps the audiences attention. Overall a good video.

  4. I really enjoyed watching your video. I think it has a great use of effects. The lip sync was strong, however in some parts it was slightly out. I like the fact that there was more than just one person in your video and it had a strong story line which followed what the lyrics were saying.

  5. I think the repeated close ups of the fingers playing the keyboard were particularly effective and placed well in time to the music. The green screen effects as well as the rain special effects are fairly convincing and well done also.

  6. I really like the use of effects and transitions you have used, it really adds a nice touch to the clips you have used. I like the use of the keyboard/piano, it is nice to have a different visual on the screen and it ties in nicely with the song. I think maybe there is quite a few different locations and it gets a bit confusing but then it does go with the lyrics of the song.

Overall it is a good video and the editing is very good. (:

  7. I think the use of green screen was good, and there was a variety of shots used. I liked the effect where every time the screen 'peeled back' there was a different photo in the album. I think the effects where it looked like it was raining and snowing worked well too!

  8. I liked the effects you used throughout your video, and the transitions between your scenes make it flow well. Overall the lip sync is pretty spot on, there are a few times when it is slightly out but doesnt notice that much. The use of varied shots make the video really effective. Well done!
